What is UV? UV Knowledge
UV is short for Ultraviolet Rays, which means ultraviolet light. Ultraviolet (UV) light is invisible to the naked eye and is a type of electromagnetic radiation beyond visible purple light, with wavelengths ranging from 10 to 400 nm. It is usually further divided based on its properties:
a. Vacuum UV, wavelength 10–200 nm
b. Shortwave UV (UV-C), wavelength 200–290 nm
c. Mediumwave UV (UV-B), wavelength 290–320 nm
d. Longwave UV (UV-A), wavelength 320–400 nm
e. Visible light, wavelength 400–760 nm
UV is used in industrial production. Internationally, the commonly used type is longwave UV (UV-A).
Note: nm stands for nanometer.
What does 'nanometer' mean?
"Nanometer" is the translation of the English word nanometer (abbreviated as nm), which is a unit of measurement. One nanometer is one millionth of a millimeter, or one billionth of a meter, roughly the length of 45 atoms lined up together.
